Statement of Faith
We believe in the one true God; whose existence is eternal. Our one God revealed Himself as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. This God reveals Himself in creation and through the Scripture. (Gen 1:1, Deut. 6:4, Eph 4:4-6, 1 Cor 8:6)
We believe that Jesus is the Son of God, the Messiah, in whom all the fullness of God dwells in bodily form, and who is the Word made flesh. In the fullness of time, He was sent of the Father, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross as a substitute for sinners, was buried, and rose again on the third day. Now, He is seated at the right hand of the Father far above all rule and authority and power and dominion and every name that is named. There He is making intercession. (John 1:1-14, Col 2:9, 2 Cor 5:21, Eph 1:20-23, Heb 7:25)
We believe that the Spirit of God convicts sinners. He also comforts, teaches, leads, indwells, and empowers all whom God regenerates. (Acts 9:31, John 16:8, 1 John 2:27, John 16:13, 1 Cor 3:16)
We believe the Bible is the only inspired Word of God and His revelation of Himself. It is completely true and trustworthy and is infallible and authoritative. (2 Timothy 3:16-17, 1 Peter 1:10-11)
We believe that God is love and loves each person even when they are living in sin and that nothing can separate us from the love of God. This love surpasses knowledge and we can only love God because He first loved us. (John 3:16, Rom 5:8, Rom 8:38-39, Eph 3:19, 1 John 3:18, 1 John 4:8, 19)
We believe that all have sinned, fallen short of the glory of God and are deserving of death. (Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23)
We believe that Jesus’ death and resurrection accomplished atonement for all who place their faith in Him. Those who trust in God, and His work alone, are made new creations in Jesus, indwelt by the Spirit of God, and transferred from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of God’s own Son (Eph 2:8-9, Rom 5, 6, Col 1:13)
We believe in justification by faith through the grace of God alone, and not by human effort. One may not earn, merit, or keep this eternal salvation by his own efforts. (Eph 2:8-10, Rom 8:29-39)
We believe that Scripture teaches the Christian life is to be one of holiness and sanctification, separation from what is evil and dedication to God. We believe Christians should strive to live a holy life, walking in obedience to God’s word. We acknowledge that the Holy Spirit works in the Christian to sanctify them for the glory of God. God makes provisions for each believer to be victorious by being led of the Spirit and not walking after the flesh. (1 Pet 1:15-16, Gal 5:16-25, Heb 12:14, 1 Pet 1:2)
We believe that God created mankind as either male or female and declared that it was good. And thus sex is a biological trait assigned to us by God and that God disapproves of any attempt to alter one’s gender by surgery or appearance. Also, it is good to be a female or male and that the way God made you is perfect. (Gen 1:27, Rom 1:26-27)
We believe that marriage is between one genetically born a man and one genetically born a woman and that no intimate sexual activity should be engaged in outside of marriage. We believe that any form of homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, bestiality, incest, adultery, and pornography are sinful perversions of God’s gift of sex. (Gen 2:24, Matt 19:5-6, Mark 10:6-9, Rom 1:26-27,
1 Cor 6:9)
We believe that men and women are spiritually equal before God, both created in the image of God, but that God has ordained distinct and separate spiritual and physical functions for men and women. (Gen 1:27, Gal 3:38, Tit 2:1-6)
